Yes it will work :)

Connect the router to the PC using the wired cable.

The router should give you an IP address of 192.168.1.x

Once you have a connection to the router type: 192.168.1.1 in to your browser.

It should then prompt you for a user name and password.

By default it is User Name: (blank) / Password: admin (if that doesn't work try admin for both)

You should now be in the setup page of the router. Click on the "wireless" tab.

You should then see a box that says: SSID: Linksys

Change linksys to something unique but not personal.

Then click on the "wireless security" tab. You should see a drop down box that says: Security - None. Change it to either WEP or WPA and setup a 64bit key or passphrase.

the write down the 10 digit key (WEP) or your passphrase (WPA) and save your settings.

Reconnect your router to your modem and use the Verizon software to locate the network name you have selected (SSID) - it should be under the wifi tab.

the software should then prompt you to either enter your 10 digit key or your passphrase

Note: If you decided to use WEP it must be the 10 digit key you wrote down.

Now you should be surfing with the best of them

Have a great day!

Have not had success. Went through all that you told me, did not always come up as you said. At the end you say to plug the router into my modem. and use Verizon's software.

I am not connected to a modem, only an external USB modem, which only has the USB for connecting to one of my USB ports.

I Still have not been able to complete the hookup, there is no way to hook the router to my "modem". The "modem" (aircard) has only a USB plug for connecting directly into the computer (laptop).

Hello,

You can not connect the USB modem to the router directly.

However you can "share" your internet connection.

You would need to plug the WAN port of the router into the PC with the USB modem. You would then have other computers in the house connect to the wireless router. It then sends the info through your PC, and then out the USB modem.

The major down fall of this is that the PC with the USB modem needs to be turned on at all times.

If this helps please click ACCEPT.

Regards

Thanks for the answer, I got it working through the internet sharing program in my control panel. I have my pc plugged into the "internet" socket on the router and the WLAN light is lit.

Thank you for your time and interest, I will click the "accept" button so you can be paid.

Have a great day..........Don
